Solitude
Nightlight
The iconic Kirkjufell Mountain.
Wizardry
An atmospheric morning at Crater Lake National Park.
Rainbow Accent
Crater Lake NP.
Good Morning Sunshine
A peaceful morning spent enjoying the view of Mt. Shasta.
Grandstand
A beautiful morning in the French Pyrenees.
Aftermath
The previous evening we had a thunderhead roll through with wind and intermittent rain, so I was surprised to wake up to glassy water and soft sunrise light.
Mountain Cirque
Storm clouds move across this amazing alpine cirque in the Sawtooth Mountains, ID.
Mountain Bluebird
Sunset Blossoms
I photographed this scene the weekend prior and got a beautiful sunset but the mountain never came out. I used this sunset and combined it with an image taken on a clear day the next weekend.
Mountain Beast
I almost missed this moment thinking that the mountain was socked in. Luckily, I rolled myself out of the tent just in time to find a clear vantage point to capture this image.
Mountain Sandwich
Mt. Rainier stands serene, sandwiched between layers of clouds.
Quiet
A beautiful still morning at Mt. Hood.
Neowise?
I thought that the Neowise comet would line up nicely to the left of the mountain for a cool twilight image. Unfortunately, I miscalculated its position by quite a lot and ended up piecing together a sunset shot instead.
Ephemeral
After riding out a thunderstorm in my tent, the clouds broke up and I was treated to a wonderful sunset. Mt. Jefferson, Oregon.
Simplicity
Little Redfish Lake, Sawtooth Wilderness.
Gothic Pink
North Cascades, WA.
Unstable
A cold, windy, and cloudless day saw a layer of fog blow in just before sunset, creating a short window of dynamic light.
Pathfinder
Mt. Hood, Oregon.
Spotlight
A moment of calm water and soft light from the shores of Two Medicine Lake, Glacier NP.
Disperse
Walking up the Khumbu Valley you are treated with ever changing views of Ama Dablam. On this particular evening the fog kept rolling in and out and what you see here is a moment where the fog had just dissipated. This was about 15-20 minutes before true sunset and unfortunately I didn't see the mountain again after this.
Out Of Breath
Watching the sun set on Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar at 18,514ft was truly breathtaking. The pointy mountain on the right is Nuptse and looks larger than Everest due to perspective.
Creation
My friend and I were treated to perfect snow conditions and really beautiful color in the sky. Unfortunately the mountain never came out that morning. With such beautiful conditions I couldn't help but go back and shoot from the same spot so I could add the mountain to the scene.
Say A Little Prayer
One evening I climbed up a ridge above Namche Bazaar that had prayers written all over the boulders and prayer flags dispersed along the hillside. In the distance you see Thamserku which dominates the skyline around Namche.
Whispering Night
I found this tarn reflecting Mt. Rainier just as the sun set. I thought that it made for a nice scene, but as mist rose from other hidden tarns throughout the meadow the scene became rather magical.
